Smoked mussels scoop Seafish Award

Shetland Seafish Oak Roasted Mussels overcame strong opposition to scoop the award for the best new product shellfish at the seafish industry awards 2007. Shetland Seafish development executive Alasdair MacPherson said: "We are delighted to receive this award. It is testament to the quality of the product, the hard work and initiative shown by our team.”

"The judges were impressed with the format and taste of our product, which they feel takes mussels into new markets and onto a new level.”

Fifteen Foundation - 2006 Graduation Ceremony

Shetland Seafish representative Stevie Michael recently attended the Fifteen Graduation and awards ceremony at Vanopolis Wine Bar in London. The purpose of Fifteen is to inspire disadvantaged young people to believe that they can create for themselves a career in the restaurant business. The driving enthusiasm of Jamie Oliver is the inspiration to these young people to whom he describes as his “extended family”.
